Purchased by Robert Davis in 1921, the estate is now run by his grandson Laurent Vonderheyden whose careful attention to detail in the vineyard and winery has seen Monbrison rise from the status of “also ran” to that of one of the most interesting estates in the Margaux appellation.  Since the late 90's to the present day Monbrison has been making wines that rival some of the best classified wines in Bordeaux .

 Just rated by the wine spectator as one of the best values under $50.
