Weemala Shiraz/Viognier: 2003 94% Shiraz and 6% Viognier Weemala is both an aboriginal word for good view and the name of the vineyard in the Central Ranges of NSW. The Central ranges is renowned for its cool weather and is home to the highest viticultural region in Australia-Orange- 2550-3000 feet above sea level. The climate, in conjunction with deep rich volcanic soils, makes the area ideal for producing fruit with a very high flavor and concentration, acid, balance and color. The wine is a blend of Shiraz grapes grown in Mudgee and Orange in the Central Ranges. Viognier is grown in Orange. The wine was matured
in 2,3,4 year old French Hogsheads for 15 months. The wine is lightly
filtered before bottling. Click
